In the early 1900’s, a passion for farming made its way from the "Old Country" of Armenia with the arrival of our great-grandfather in America. It took root in Salem, New Hampshire, on a tract of land which is still farmed by our family to this day. "The Farm" was a way of life for our great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents. They truly were stewards of the land, caring and tending to the crops with love and energy.
This sense of stewardship and respect for the land has been handed down through four generations of Donabedian’s. It has inspired us, the current generation, to continue the family tradition of farming. It is truly our honor to do so. Like our ancestors, we remain passionate about food and farming.
Over the past 100+ years, the farm has diversified into a successful wholesale food service distribution business, Donabedian Brothers, Inc. The business was established in 1938 when Daniel, the younger of the two brothers, graduated from high school. Daniel, together with his brother Suren, began with the rental of a small warehouse in Lawrence, MA and only one truck. The rest is history! Donabedian Brothers, Inc. is currently located in Salem, NH, adjacent to the original family farm and our newly constructed, state-of-the-art, hydroponic greenhouse…
tying tradition to technology.
